Jackson Street is the main street of Petone which is now a part of Lower Hutt City in New Zealand.


This book has major chapters that looks at the history of Petone, of Jackson Street and the Jackson Street Programme that was formed in 1992 to promote the Street and the area.


The book also has 30 mini-chapters on well-known people and places that have graced the Street in its over 150 year history.


Product Information

Nick Zangouropoulos is a business consultant with a hobby interest in local history. This is his third book on Petone following Mr. Petone in 2018, about local identity Roy Hewson, and Petone - A Postcard Town in 2011 that tells the story of Petone via vintage postcards.


He is president of the Petone Historical Society and Chair of the Board of the Jackson Street Programme. He lives in Eastbourne, near Petone, with his wife Joanna.
