Toughen Up, Andrew!

Author(s): Anne Manchester

8-12 (Older Readers) | Dogs

Andrew is a small dog who likes a quiet life with lots of time for sleeping and mango to eat. His mate David tells him he needs to toughen up, but Andrew’s not so sure.

When they go on holiday with the family to the wild Wairarapa coast, Andrew has no choice. David introduces him to spiny crayfish and giant eels, and he has to scare off fierce seals and fight for his life in rough seas.

And then when a big black dog threatens the people he loves, Andrew discovers he can be tough after all, not just for himself, but for his mates too.

With black and white illustrations by Fifi Colston and colour photos.
